It all began in the year 1983 when a skilled pastry chef decided to turn her passion for baking into a business. She had a knack for creating confections that not only delighted the taste buds but also warmed the hearts of those who indulged in them. With unwavering determination and a sprinkle of creativity, she opened the doors to Sugarhouse in a small, cozy space on Anza Street, near Makati Avenue. 

It was a haven for dessert enthusiasts, a place where the sweet aroma of freshly baked cakes and pastries wafted through the air, enticing anyone who walked by. But Sugarhouse has grown to be more than just a bakery; it is a cherished institution that had been a part of the city's fabric for decades.

From the very beginning, Sugarhouse was more than a cake shop; it was a place where dreams were crafted and memories were made. Families flocked to Sugarhouse to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and special occasions with delectable treats that seemed straight out of a fairytale.  Their Chocolate Truffle and French Apple Pie became iconic centerpieces at countless celebrations, capturing the imaginations of young and old alike.

Over the years, Sugarhouse grew in popularity, and its menu expanded to include a wide array of breads and pastries, as well as a complete set of meals.

The heart and soul of Sugarhouse lay not only in its delectable treats but also in the warm and welcoming atmosphere the company’s team has cultivated. The shop has become a second home for patrons, a place where they can find solace in a slice of cake and a cup of coffee. The walls echo with laughter, conversations, and the clinking of forks against plates.

As the years went by, Sugarhouse weathered its fair share of challenges. Economic fluctuations, changing food trends, and the rise of modern chains presented hurdles the company had to overcome.   In 2007, new management took over, but the shop's unwavering commitment to its roots, its dedication to preserving tradition while embracing change, ensure that Sugarhouse remains a beloved institution.

In 2023, Sugarhouse celebrates its 40th anniversary, a testament to the loyalty of generations of patrons. The shop had grown from a modest bakery to a cherished cultural symbol, an embodiment of the Philippines' love for sweets and celebrations.
